Power Inside serves more than 300 women each year and impacts thousands more with our advocacy and education. Based on a public health and trauma-informed model, we are charged to improve the health and safety of women and communities. We provide a continuum of care to women who are survivors of violence and social marginalization. Our service components, described below, include: street outreach, a drop-in center, group counseling, jail and prison reentry and aftercare, and violence prevention and advocacy.

Harm Reduction Street Outreach
Our community health outreach reaches marginalized women, particularly women and girls who trade sex for basic survival.
Harm Reduction Drop-in Center
Our drop-in shelter offers women a safe and nonjudgmental space to access support.
Trauma and Harm Redution Group Counseling
Power Inside offers support groups and workshops to women in jail, prison and the community.
Jail and Prison Reentry and Aftercare
Women returning to the community from prison and jail face overwhelming barriers. Through our case management we work with women while in incarcerated to address their anticipated and realized needs and provide a continuum of care as they rebuild their lives after release.
Violence Prevention Education
Power Inside engages victims of sexual assault and sexual exploitation though our office-based trauma-informed individual and group support, crisis intervention, and advocacy services.
Community Organzing and Advocacy
We maintain an active policy agenda that includes advocacy, training, and research on issues that matter most to our members, their families, and communities. Visit our issues page for information on our current work toward structural change.
We rely on support from foundations, government, individuals, volunteers and members to serve over 300 women and their families per year. Please make a tax-deductible contribution to Power Inside.
